When calling or emailing, please have your insurance information and a brief description of your symptoms or reason for the visit ready. We will do our best to accommodate same-week appointments when available.
If you have been referred by another physician, please let us know at the time of scheduling so we can request your records in advance. Referral paperwork can be faxed to our office before your appointment.

Our office is located on President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) in Sachse, Texas, conveniently accessible from Garland, Wylie, Murphy, Plano, Rowlett, Richardson, and the greater Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The building is located on the south side of PGBT, east of Merritt Road.
What to Bring to Your First Visit
To ensure your first appointment goes smoothly, please bring the following items with you:
- Photo identification — A valid driver's license, state ID, or passport.
- Insurance card(s) — Your current medical insurance card, including any secondary insurance. Bring both the front and back.
- Referral authorization — If your insurance plan requires a referral from your primary care physician, please bring the referral form or confirmation number.
- List of current medications — Include prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and supplements, along with dosages.
- Medical records and test results — Any relevant lab work, imaging reports, pathology results, or records from previous GI evaluations. If your referring physician has already sent records, we will have them on file.
- List of previous surgeries and procedures — Include dates and the names of the hospitals or surgery centers where they were performed.
- Family medical history — Note any family history of gastrointestinal conditions such as colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, or celiac disease.
- Symptom diary (if applicable) — If you have been tracking your symptoms, such as frequency of abdominal pain, bowel habits, or dietary triggers, bringing this log can help Dr. John evaluate your condition more efficiently.
- Questions for the doctor — Write down any questions or concerns you want to discuss during your appointment so you don't forget them.
Please arrive 15 to 20 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to complete any necessary intake paperwork.

Texas Gut Health accepts most major insurance plans. While we participate with a broad range of insurers, coverage and benefits vary by plan. We strongly recommend contacting your insurance company or calling our office at (214) 624-6596 before your appointment to verify that your specific plan is accepted and to understand your coverage for gastroenterology services.
